FAQ

Downloads

I have purchased an issue but the app didn't download it properly. What should I do?
Please try to restore your purchases by tapping on the Settings icon in the top right corner of the app, then 'Restore Purchases.' You may be prompted to enter your Amazon username and password, which will unlock the newest issue available in the app for you to download.
Content that I've purchased isn't showing up in the app for me. What do I do if 'Restore Purchases' doesn't work?
First, please try restarting the app by doing the following:
  1. Exit the app by pressing the home or back button once.
  2. From your home screen, pull down the notification bar and tap on More > Settings > Applications > Installed applications.
  3. Find the app, select it, then tap 'Force stop.' Tap 'OK.'
  4. Make sure your device has strong wi-fi connectivity while you launch the app again.

If this doesn't do the trick, you may have a faulty download of the app. To refresh, do the following:
  1. Exit the app by pressing the home or back button.
  2. From your home screen, pull down the notification bar and tap on More > Settings > Applications > Installed applications.
  3. Find the app, select it, then tap Uninstall and confirm.
  4. Launch the Amazon app store, and download the app again.
  5. Take a moment to double-check the strength and stability of your wi-fi connection.
  6. Launch the app again and try "restore purchases".
The app appears to have frozen while downloading an issue/restoring my purchases. What should I do?
First, please double check that the app is actually frozen. Some of the issue content can be rather large, and take a considerable time to download over slower internet connections. If you are positive that the downloading/restoring is frozen, please follow these steps to restart the app.
How do I remove an issue from my Amazon device?
To remove an issue from your device, navigate to the Store view (where you see the covers of all the issues at once), and long-press the cover of the issue you'd like to delete. After a moment a prompt will appear asking if you'd like to remove the issue.
Sometimes download of issue(s) doesn't happen even when the device was left for long. What should I do?
For large issues download may take long and if in the meanwhile the device is locked/put to sleep, the download might stop. To resolve this you may turn the 'Screen Timeout' to 'Never' before starting/resuming the download. On Kindle this option to change the screen timeout is available under Settings > Sounds & Display (Or just Display).
